WEEK TWO TASKS #2 & #3
YOUR NODAL AXIS STORY
and THE DISPOSITOR PLANET THEORY
YOUR NODAL AXIS STORY
Every chart tells a story. In this way, my job as "astrologer" parallels that of a story-teller. And I see the NODAL AXIS framing the story of the entire chart, a Big Picture vision of where we came from (South Node/House), where we're going (North Node/House) and the tests and supports along the way (planetary aspects to the Nodal Axis). To discover your NODAL AXIS story, focus on the South and North Nodes and the Signs and Houses they inhabit; we'll cover aspects later.
STEP 1): THE NODAL LIST.
Make two lists: a South Node list and a North Node list. Write down specific activities and experiences pertaining to your understanding of the HOUSE and SIGN of your SOUTH NODE and your NORTH NODE.TASK 2): THE EXPERIMENT.
Create time to explore these activities and experiences. Discover whatever experiences and activities might be symbolized by your South and North Nodes. You can also include memories of what you have already experienced.
TASK 3): THE STORY.
Write down the results of your experiences in both South and North Node areas and how you perceive both Nodes relating with each other. Using your imagination and firsthand experience as a foundation, compose a story about how you came into this world with certain gifts and abilities (South Node sign and its House) and how they might be used to face the tests and challenges of the current lifetime (North Node sign and its House). This story can be anywhere between 50 and 500 words. If you feel inclined, post your NODAL AXIS story on the WEEK TWO Forum thread called "My Nodal Axis Story".
THE DISPOSITOR PLANET
The Theory and the Technique
For some of us, the North Node area can feel beyond reach. Perhaps we have accumulated too much inertia and feel stuck in the comfort zone of our South Node area. One way to energize the North Node sign is by locating its "dispositor planet" and engaging that force through experiences related to its House placement. Each astrological sign is associated with its own resident planet, or force, that takes on the role of its "deposior planet".
Dispositor planets for each sign are:
ARIES (Mars),
TAURUS and LIBRA (Venus),
GEMINI and VIRGO (Mercury),
CANCER (Moon), LEO (Sun)
SCORPIO (Pluto), SAGITTARIUS (Jupiter),
CAPRICORN (Saturn), AQUARIUS (Uranus), PISCES (Neptune)
Here's how it works. Let's say your North Node is in Sagittarius and in the First House of Self. And, let's say its dispositor planet of Jupiter resides in your 12th House. To energize your North Node and gain more access to your 1st House, you'd begin exploring 12 House experiences through Jupiter, such as following directions with unknown outcomes or investing more faith (Jupiter) in unknowns (12th Hoiuse).
NOTE: if this theory or this assignment is too abstract for you at this time,
come back for it later.
