ANTERO ALLI ~ filmography
Features Catalog (1993-2023) and Video Experiments (since 1991)
ANTERO was born 11/11/1952 in Helsinki, Finland where he maintains citizenship. In 1993, he began writing and directing his idiosyncratic feature films in a personal style bearing an imprint of his deep history with experimental theatre (since 1975). Between 1995 and 2015, his films screened across multiple venues in the SF Bay area and along the USA west coast arthouse circuit. His films have been extensively reviewed at the popular film review site, filmthreat.com. Between 1992 and 2002, he curated the Nomad VideoFilm Festival, a west coast touring venue of experimental shorts. In 2015, he relocated to Portland OR and took a five year hiatus from making films to direct five ParaTheatrical ReSearch productions while also producing music videos with his longtime partner and collaborator, Sylvi. Antero returned to cinema in 2020 with "The Vanishing Field", in 2021 with "The Alchemy of Sulphur" and in 2022 with "Tracer", which premiered Sept. 20th to a full house at Portland's Clinton Street Theatre. His next feature, Blue Fire, premieres at 7pm, September 21, 2023 at Clinton Street Theater in Portland OR.

"Alli's films are not for the easily distracted. They are challenging and
sometimes cryptic in their dissection of human emotions and societal
interactions. Repeated viewings, however, reveal layers of wisdom
and wit that may not have been obvious in the initial screening."
